Ready Keiki!

In January 2023, Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke launched the Ready Keiki initiative, a multi-faceted plan to ensure all Hawaiʻi keiki are ready for kindergarten and their futures while creating economic stability for local families.

Ready Keiki aims to expand access to preschool for Hawaiʻi’s 3- and 4-year-olds, creating over 400 classrooms statewide by 2032.

This initiative builds on decades of groundwork by state leaders and early learning and child care champions to create more accessible preschool, set our keiki up for success, and make a lasting impact on the state and future generations.
