Traditional Chinese Lantern Festival
On February 25th, Lt. Governor Tsutsui met with Mr. Qiu Shaofang, the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles, to discuss matters relating to growing and improving the relationship between the People’s Republic of China and Hawaii. The two shared a positive discussion and exchange of ideas on continuing efforts to foster stronger ties between China and Hawaii.
The next evening, Lt. Governor Tsutsui attended the Traditional Lantern Festival, hosted by Mr. Tan Tianxing, Vice Minister of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, and Qiu Shaofang, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles. Messages were received from the Vice Minister, Consul General, and Governor Abercrombie, among others.
