Lt. Governor Chin addressed leaders and lawmakers at the 39th Annual Hawaii Prayer Breakfast at the Hilton Hawaiian Village last week. He also honored the late U.S. Senator Daniel Akaka, who was a staunch supporter of the Hawaii Prayer Breakfast, as well as the National Prayer Breakfast, and served as the sole signatory on the official invitation for this event each year. While his physical presence was greatly missed, Senator Akaka’s aloha and loving spirit continued to bless this year’s event.
Historically the leadership of our Nation has turned to God for strength and guidance. Our leaders gather to seek the Lord’s guidance and strength as well as to reaffirm our faith and to renew the dedication of our Nation and ourselves to God and His purposes. This event also seeks to encourage men and women of all religions throughout the world to recognize their privileges and responsibilities before God.
