Lt. Governor Doug Chin attended a night of fellowship for the delegates of the 2017 and 2018 Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii (FCCH) Goodwill and Trade Missions. For many, it was also the first anniversary and reunion of the 2017 Trade Mission, which includes Governor David Ige and First Lady Dawn Ige. It was also an orientation and opportunity for the 2018 Trade Mission co-leaders Lt. Governor Doug Chin and FCCH President Vanessa Kop to meet with all the 2017 and 2018 delegates.
The Honorable Alfredo P. Valdez, Jr., Mayor of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, and President of the League of Mayors of Ilocos Norte also attended the event so that the FCCH could show its appreciation for the League of Mayors’ fabulous hospitality during the 2017 Trade Mission.
Here are Lt. Governor Chin’s remarks:
Aloha to Governor David Ige and First Lady Dawn Ige. Aloha and welcome to the Honorable Alfredo Valdez. Jr. – Mayor of San Nicolas and President of the League of Mayors of Ilocos Norte.
I am honored to be co-leading the 28th Goodwill and Trade Mission to the Philippines next month with my friend and President of the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii President Vanessa Kop. As some of you know, this will be my first visit to the Philippines, and in about two short weeks, we’ll be there. I’m very excited to discover Manila, Taguig, Bohol, and Davao along with all our 2018 delegates.
I look forward to learning about these wonderful places and to meet with trade and business experts throughout the Philippines. I’m very intrigued to experience Manila FAME, the famous Chocolate Hills, and other attractions. Salamat to the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, the organizing committee of the 2018 Goodwill and Trade Mission, and to the Philippine Consulate and Consul General Joselito Jimeno for coordinating this wonderful opportunity. Here’s to a fantastic 28th Goodwill and Trade Mission to the Philippines. Cheers and Aloha!
