HONOLULU — The Hawaii State Legislature’s 27th Session opened on January 15, 2014. The House and Senate marked the 55th anniversary of Hawaii’s statehood, by acknowledging and honoring members who have served since 1959. More than 50 former representatives and 40 former senators attended. Some notable guests included, Governor Neil Abercrombie, who served both in the House and Senate, and Governor George Ariyoshi, who served in the Senate.
