Honolulu —Lieutenant Governor Shan Tsutsui delivered opening remarks at the Hawaii Aerospace Summit. The event featured panel discussions by key leaders in the aerospace industry as well as important State legislators and U.S. Military leaders interested in developing Hawaii as a center for space operations.
“Whenever people think of Hawaii, they don’t automatically think about the moon and stars… they think about our sun and beautiful beaches. With this Summit, we hope to expand on how people think about aerospace and our islands,” said Tsutsui at a press conference held a day before the Summit.
The 2013 Aerospace Summit was sponsored by the Lt. Governor’s Office, the Senate Committee on Public Safety, Intergovernmental and Military Affairs, the House Committee on Economic Development and Business, the Hawai‘i Office of Aerospace Development, and the Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems (PISCES).
