Lt. Governor Chin led the ‘Aina Pono Hawai‘i State Farm to School Program and Public-Private Partnerships Panel at this year’s Hawaiʻi Book and Music Festival at the grounds of Honolulu Hale. Joining him on the panel were Joy Barua of Kaiser Permanente, Amy Asselbaye from the HMSA Foundation, Betsy Cole from the Kohala Center, and Jayson Watts from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. Panelists discussed the Lt. Governor’s ‘Aina Pono Hawai‘i State Farm to School Program, its successes and challenges, how it helps students, taxpayers and local farmers. Highlighted was also the need for support from the community and the critical role that public-private partnerships play in educating and nourishing our keiki as we prepare them to lead succesful and productive lives in the community.
