It’s an old time favorite of many families around the U.S. and it’s definitely a big hit at Kohala Complex! Today we are sharing with you Chef Greg’s Sloppy Joe recipe made with locally sourced ground beef. The sandwich is served on freshly baked buns by Kohala Complex cafeteria cooks, along with locally sourced lettuce and tomatoes. The meal also includes a fresh fruit.
|GROUND BEEF||13.5 oz|
|GRANULATED GARLIC||¼ teaspoon|
|TOMATO PASTE||3 oz|
|VINEGAR (CUPS)||⅛ cup|
|DRY MUSTARD||¼ teaspoon|
|BLACK PEPPER||1 pinch|
|BROWN SUGAR||0.25 oz|
1) Brown ground beef. Drain.
2) Add onions and granulated garlic. Cook for 5 minutes. Add tomato paste, ketchup, water, vinegar, dry mustard, black pepper, and brown sugar. Mix well and simmer for 25 to 30 mins.
3) Serve on a bun.
